James, a native of Cardiff in Wales, is a multi-talented athlete, highly motivated and sociable, dedicated to working with and supporting children in the sports sector.
His passion for sport, and his natural ability, have been evident from an early age when James represented Cardiff City Academy U15s in soccer, and then going on to represent his country at U16 level. He then played Rugby at Club level in Wales before being selected to play for the Maltese International team, winning a number of caps to date, a role he continues to fill today, and allowing James the opportunity to play rugby overseas, including in Australia where he played Semi Professional Rugby for Joondalup Brothers.
Despite his elite sporting achievements, and continuing standing, James manages to display his “down-to-earth” personality and hands on approach, demonstrating an eagerness to learn and to transfer his knowledge and experience in coaching Youth Rugby.
Previously, James studied at Harptury College in the UK for a year before moving on to work with a number of multi-sport coaching organizations. He is currently furthering his studies at Cardiff University, specializing in Sports Coaching and also working as a Teaching Assistant, the two disciplines combining to create a unique Coaching Philosophy.
James' multi-disciplined experience allows him work more effectively with young athletes, with his mantra being the teaching of fundamentals of multi sports in order to develop the athletes as more rounded sports men/women, providing the grounding prior to transition into the sport best suited to their choice and/or abilities.
